Parent/Guardian Training

Parent Training involves developing strategies and techniques to help cultivate the parent/child relationship. A certificated staff member such as; a BCBA, Special Education Teacher, Therapist, and/or a Medical Professional would conduct an assessment to determine what services the family requires. The following are a few topics of what Parent Training entails: 

-Setting up the home environment (structured activities, schedules)
-Basic behavior management strategies for home/community
-Increasing communication skills
-How to teach/prompt self-care skills, ADL's, leisure skills, communication skills, social skills, academics.
-Generalizing skills learned in school to the home/community
-Safety skills
-Community resources
